Put your "Child Glasses" on at the door!

I slowed down some more and had a wonderful moment of clarity for adults and children. Often times, adults are so wrapped up on routine and how "everything needs to go in it's place"; even as an adult I still strive to be better at that! Some of you might immediately see a "mess" just as I did, however, what I learned tonight is that everything IS in its place... My point of sharing this photo with each of you is to remind you to take your "adult glasses off" before you tell a child to clean up and try on "children glasses". I'm not saying this means your child never has to clean up after themselves, but I am suggesting that if you ask what they are up to before you break it down, shows your child that you are interested in what they are doing; another piece of helping to build a positive ego. It is often a hard thing to stop and talk with wonder to our children when we "are so busy" and "need to stick to the routine", but if you allow your child's creative and beautiful imagination shine through, you might just be surprised as to why things are placed where they are. How do you find out what their purposeful place is? You ask your child. Each stuffed animal, blanket, toy, pretend piece of cake and basket has strategically been placed by Cecilia in her room; each stuffed animal "is in their bed". Sometimes we wonder why our children have temper tantrums... I'll allow the age to speak for itself but most of the time it's just the explosion of emotions that they haven't developed an understanding for quite yet; they haven't acquired the right words, they haven't defined their emotions therefore they aren't fully able to express themselves. In the past, I can recall a few meltdowns when it was time to sleep and I wonder, did I take one of her purposeful items and move it to fit my need? I'm so thankful I slowed down tonight and helped her tuck in each one of these dolls into sleep (you can't even see the other side of the room😂)... Children teach us how to be present if we just allow them to💛 s...l...o....w......d...o...w...n
